Bluetooth trackers, like AirTags or Tiles, are small, accurate devices that are intended for tracking lost and stolen items. However, they can be repurposed to track a survivor or victim without their consent. The Electronic Frontier Foundations maintains a guide on the potential dangers of non-consensual trackers and strategies to detect or find unwanted trackers.

Bluetooth tracker detection is built-in to most phones for most tracking devices. However, certain Bluetooth trackers remain undetectable, and the time taken to detect a device can take time. If a survivor is concerned about tracking devices, its important to be wary of any gifts or items from a person causing harm that may contain a tracker and to learn how to manually detect Bluetooth devices in the vicinity.
